I have a factory 4l80e controller box, that was from a H1 where can I find the stock harness for it ?>

good question...subscribed:waytogo:

call around to some surplus suppliers or maybe a new truck with the wiring for one..

looks like that's what it comes down to...I can't see afford spending big $$$ for an aftermarket controller.

Would it be a formidable task to make one, using a factory wiring diagram as a guide.if no used ones show up in a boneyard?..

I'm not very well versed in newer trucks, but I've seen the wiring harnesses chopped off at junkyards on lots of newer vehicles, and I think there are less wires at the local telephone company switchboard than on one car!....

I bet one of the boneyards could hook you up..around here they have a "network" thing thats sort of an intercom thats linked to many other yards,if one needs something they put out a broadcast on it and usually another place has one,and they'll sell it to the yard closer to you ,and you pay a bit more for it,but dont have to go get it yourself--unless you wanted too ..its probably done online today ,rather than on the "squawkbox" I was used too though..

Any of those show up on govliquidation.com? I kind of doubt it, since they are still using the setup, but it's an idea.

Realistically if it's about cost, and not time, then making one shouldn't be a terrible endeavor. Mouser.com likely lists all the connectors/terminals you will need, just have to figure out what the TCU and trans connector part number/styles are.

Is it still in the huge box? if you open the hmmwv TCM box up there will be another GM styled box inside. It will use the GM style connections. If you want to use the weather proof box that is from the hmmwv you'll have to use a cannon plug.

I have a hmmwv wiring harness that has a 4l80 harness built into it. I plan on stripping it down to just the 4l80 portion to use when I get a tranny.

There are some on that popular auction site that might work for your purposes, or at least give you a basis to start. I don't think the transmission wiring harness varies much from application to application. The transmission harness itself isn't particularly complicated, has hookups for TPS, TCC, power, etc. Seems like a lot of them are kits that can be modified depending on use.

I imagine you can also get one from one of the online GM wholesale parts websites, probably for much cheaper than a standalone controller.

Folkenheath (not on here much anymore) had a schematic that he used to wire one in his drag car...not sure if you can PM him or not for it.
Another line might be GregDucato...he's a trans specialist.
