Seeing that paint chart brings back memories of my paint mixing days at several parts stores I worked in...and it reminded me of a funny incident that happened one day..
A older portugese gent comes in with his son, they used to buy used vehicles at auctions and fix and flip them, and they had a home based body shop--the old man spoke very little english,so his son had to come in to interpret for him so we could wait on him..
One day he came in and the son tells me they want paint for a 77 Ford --I give them the paint chart book, and they see two colors that might be the right one--the old man says "how I tell which one"?---I said "You need to go look at the tag on the door and get the paint code"...he then turns to the son and says "well--GO LOOK!",and he looks aggravated...
The son goes out to the car, finds the code, come back in,and the father says "well--WHAT is paint number"?....
The son replies "4Q"...
The father gives him a dope slap and yells "You no TALK to ME with dirty mouth!"...
I then pointed at the page in the paint chart, and showed him, sure enough--there was a code "4Q" and it was the right color of the car!...
The poor kid stood there rubbing his jaw,and the father takes him aside and started apologizing..

.it was hilarious, all of us behind the counter were laughing so hard we almost wet our pants...priceless!..
