Factory Gas Tank Capacity?

My fuel gauge quit workin about a month ago so I'm going to start to figure out milage and I need to know how much gas the factory tank holds. Does anybody else have how much milage they get? I've got the stock 350 with 33's and 3.73 gears and my speedo reads 10mph fast/forums/images/icons/tongue.gif Thanks.

i think the factory tank was 21 gallons

All I know is my 72 had 21gallon stock tank not 23....even the Poly replacement tank I bought was 21 gallon. So was there ever a 23gallon for first Gen? I don't know....

Just drove my 71 Jimmy back from Virginia to Kansas and averaged 10mpg with my stock tires on it!!! I had to take off my 35"s or I'd only get about 5 or 6! Mine also has a 350.
