Both places should have them. Hell, they often have performance "chrome" ones hanging on teh wall.

I bought one for my 94 (non threaded, same part as my 91) at kragen.

Those chrome ones bring teh suck. BTDT. Never again.

I assume you know you can just put a pipe plug into the holes, and you think they'll leak or have something aesthetic against plugged holes? :dunno:

If you HAVE to have a no-extra-holes variety, I think a junkyard might be best. My '74 has the no-holes variety in it, but even for that truck O'Reilly only lists one similar to what you linked, with the hole.

Note that they're like alternators, there's a million variations of the hose pointing different directions, so be sure to get one that aligns correctly for your particular radiator hose routing.

Pretty sure my 89 does not have any holes in it and your 87 "shouldn't" either. I'll bet yours has been replaced at some point with an incorrect one.

All the counter jockeys can only find me the one i linked to.

I had them look up one for an 82 tonight and it was the same piece as the one they get for my 87.

The one i have is just a black one piece no threaded outlets unit. It keeps leaking. Because of the leak it for many years the sealing surface in the bolt on water outlet is trashed. Even after attempting to clean it up the outlet leaks.

i too got mine from napa.no holes and got one with holes later on when i switched heads to have a good place for temp sending unit.both were i believe around 20 bucks.

That's where I put my temp sending unit at first and then when I had the engine out I put it in the block...the actual temperature is much more accurate there....I think the water backs up behind the thermostat until it get hot enough to open it....when it's in the block you get the temp of water in the jacket...not sure it's a great deal of importance but I noticed that when I moved it.

Up on the housing you don't get a reading til the thermostat opens. I kinda like to Know it is working properly. The stock spot on the head waß broken off and I couldn't get it out and didn't want to drill it out so I left it there and did the one in the housingand instead. The one in the head is more accurate overall but the one on the thermostat housing tell how much total heat is inbthe engine before it hits the radiator and I think I
Kinda like that better too.
