I need some info to satisfy the vehicle inspection, and safety check.
The door sticker shows: 31x10.50x15 Tire and 15x7 Rim.
The RPO code sheet in the glove box is partly readable, but the vehicle has
quad shock absorbers in front and I guess it is born with off-road option.
The tire size indicate factory option for off highway use and mods to
accommodate large suspension inputs.
Am I right?
2" lifting blocks mounted between rear axle and leaf spring, looks like the
same age as the rest of the vehicle.
Can those blocks be a part of some factory installed off highway equipment?
The vehicle did not pass the inspection due to the inspector's remarks:
Framelift with blocks. Remove blocks.
What is exactly riding height, front and rear measurements.
I have original shop manual and unit repair manual, no info on height.
I guess this forum has tons of high-tech users that can help me out.
Regards Carl.

I am not aware of any factory added blocks for the 1991, or other years. What I did have on one of my 1991 Blazers was an additional front spring for the HD Plow package. This was factory installed and added about an inch or so of hieght to the front. This to had the quad shocks. The 31 X 10.50 was the biggest factory tire offered for that truck. I would have to say that they blocks are after market. Blocks in the front present a safety issue and are almost always flagged during inspection.

GM never used blocks in the suspension of these. If there's some there then that is definitely an added part.

Framelift...does that mean in between the spring and axle or the body and frame? He might be referring to a body lift.

Sorry for the late response.
I appreciate your information, RJB44 and AJMBLAZER
No blocks installed in front, only rear.
I agree. The term framelift is a bit confusing.
Suspension lift is more correct and better describe the blocks posision.
My 5th attempt to get the vehicle street legal stranded yesterday.

Yesterdays inspection and the inspection before that again was
made with rear blocks removed. I let the quad shocks remain in front,
but this triggers the inspector and he claim's the vehicle still lifted.
Despite the door sticker with 31x10.5x15 on 7inch rims the vehicle is
certified with 235x75x15 and 6 inch rim by the authority.
As a result km/hour error and I guess the cruisecontrol and rear antilock brake
receive wrong information, due to the drac module factory settings.

No I have to use those smaller wheels, and I have to get some kind of
documentation/measurement of riding height. Perhaps ground clearance
or cc/wheel to fender who knows. And stated by GM.

But keep in mind this is Norway. Not USA.
Can anyone please help with those measurements.
Regards Carl.

Not sure if the height is correct for the "tallest" K5 that was made factory, but it SHOULD be...GM should have used the largest numbers for things like ride height.

Click "Blazer" under 1987, then it's the last thumbnail on the right displayed, with the black background.

I know I've seen some other measurements somewhere, but can't recall if it was in the service manuals or somewhere else.

Quad Shocks were in just about every package that I know of.

Snow Plow, Tow and all 6.2s also.

Truth be told Ive never seen an 80s Chevy without Quad Shocks

My '90 K5 with the 6.2 did not have quad shocks and it was completely stock except for the tires when I bought it in '94 with 49k on the clock. I grew up in a farming community and when I was a kid it seemed like almost every farmer had a 70'-80's era Chevy 4x4 and I remember very few ever having quad shocks.

What he said, I never saw them until I started looking to buy one later on. I think it was a bit regional.

Thank's everybody. I appreciate your suggestions and help. Actually the link from dyeager535 to those scanned brochures is worth a try. The height between the body/bumper (top of the bumper) and the garage floor is 770mm. Brochure says 815mm. And another page; Technical Information, list; Tire Option Available: Contact your truck dealer. ((that row covers all models) I guess this opens for even bigger tires than those printed on the door sticker. To use it as a real documentation, I'll buy some on eBay. (That way they can't suspect any fake-document.) I'll let you know if I end up with license plates and no remarks. Regards. Carl.

Mine didn't have them! My Suburban does though..

My K5 is the bare bones Custom Deluxe..no options at all.
