I never realized until today that there was a factory tach option. In my cluster I have a giant speedo and fuel gauge, and small clock, oil press, temp, and volts. How is the tach cluster set up? My guess is the fuel moves to a small size, taking the place of the clock?

I've had a cheesy sunpro tach clamped to my column for years. Putting it in the cluster would be nice.

fyi that's for 80-up design gauges and from c-40 and up size truck hence the gas gauge in the middle bottom .

its the way I would do it also and gm should have done it for the light duty truck .

So it was a factory option with the tiny fuel gauge? Cool.

I cruised that thread you linked, but didn't see a pic of the whole cluster. What do you lose to get the fuel gauge over in the set of four small ones?

blank / idiot light / or clock is 1 of the item to loose .

there is a few good write-ups with pics in the garage with how to modify and add factory tach .

What idiot lights do you lose on the bottom of the fuel gauge using the C40+ truck tach?

Only real downside I see, but most probably don't care.
