I just picked up an 84 K5 with TBI. I know that everything I've read shows TBI was only available 1987 and after, so this had to be a swap, right? The only problem is that, if it was a swap, was done so cleanly that there's no indication of a swap. No spliced wires, all brackets, relays, in factory locations, all paint has the same fade, etc. It's undetectable.

All the vin tags and stickers match the title and the doors show a manufacture date of 1984. This thing is LOADED: 700r4, tilt, cruise, a/c, intermitent wipers, 32gal tank, skid plates, power everything, etc.

Did they every do any TBI K5's in 1984? Maybe some very rare option? Dealer install???

Someone probably grabbed everything from a donor truck and took their time. Attention to detail on the part of a previous owner is a good sign the truck was cared for.

Like as said, TBI wasn't available on trucks until 1987. Just curious but what does the underhood emissions sticker say for year of vehicle?

If the vin was swapped, they also swapped the left wheel well, driver door, and glove box. Pretty impressive ;-)

The emissions sticker does show a "carb." But then again, the sticker doesn't match the number of hoses that are ran to the charcoal canister (sticker shows 7, the canister can only handle 4?).

It's got to simply be an excellent swap.
