failed header paint ?

anytime... :D

oh, and not to repeat myself around here too much but just a reminder to everyone that rubbing alcohol is not denatured...

will the rain effect weather the paint will stick?Weather man says rain is in the forecast for the next 2 days, paint is scheduled to be here thursday but im not counting on it.

well, ya want it at least 45 or so where your painting.. moist days aren't great, moreso with some paints than others.... use a couple heat lamps right up on it (the little yellow halogen ones work well) to warm em up and dry the area before you paint em...

than paint em and use the lamps to gently warm and dry em..

well i have a ceramic heater i was going to heat the garage with and then a heat lamp on the headers while i paint them, that way its not but a** cold when i paint this time.

well fed ex says the paint is here in town and out for delivery so maybe ill get my blazer put back together today.

the substrate temp is actually more important than air temp.. so get em nice and warm before painting, (maybe store em in a nice warm place of the house prior to painting them than put the light on em in the garage).... than back the lights off a bit for a more ambient drying once shot...

remember, the lights not only warm the part/paint, but remove moisture from the air/surface..

I remember back in the lacquer days, you'd paint something on a humid day, it'd fog/milk up, put a heatlamp to it, and you could watch it cook right out of it...

Ya they are in my room next to the ceramic heater keeping warp
