Shop around. I just bought a Detroit for a 14FF off Facebook for $150 shipped to my door. Came out of an M1008 and is in excellent condition.
The only problem with that, is a lot of shops won't let you bring your own parts in. You don't take your own meat to the steakhouse.

Yep. I would skip the SF and find a 4.56 FF instead. That will save you huge bucks, which then you could plop down on a lockrite or Trutrack for your front and not be pinched.
