Fall Blazer Run in Missouri - Information thus far...

Hey man, its no problem! Post all you want, I need to keep this thread on the top. I am in the same boat, broke from buying so much stuff. I now have everything to install the crossover steering, just need to get started Saturday or Sunday. Heres my to do list:

Install Truss and rear dif cover. - Priority right Frisbie??

Remove right side knuckle, steering arm, 4wd steering box.

Install 2wd Box, Dropped Pitman, install balljoints, torque crossover arm, install knuckle, install draglink, and bleed the system. Any tips on this crossover install????

I would like to do some minor suspension work prior to the run as well, but we will see. Need to trim my rear quarters from the Disney Damage. After that, Im good to go.

Now, all of you who are coming from Illinois and St. Louis area, please email me and we can set up a meeting time/place. I plan to meet where we did before, at the QT off Hwy55 south at Meramec Bottom Road. I will be in a White Blazer with Boggers, 6" lift, Kayline Soft top... just joking, I know everyone who is going to be there. Hey Illini, where the heck is Carl? Tell him to ride along if his K5 isnt ready. Here is a stab at the attendees list:

bigdaddyof2 - Todd
Shagz - he may possibly make it with his Burban if the T-cas gets installed!
85m1009 - Steve - his rig will be there this time!!!
K5BLT4FUN - Layne
Blazer72 - Ken and Katia
Blueblazer62 - Tyler
SK-15 - Nick
Blazer Boy - Bryan
LittleJimmy - Glenn
BigJ - Jeff, not real sure if he is going to make it
Scooter - Scot
Bigrig - Chris
Mudduck - Scott
Mudzer - Neil

So, this will be a good turnout. Did I miss anyone? We will probably do a night run sometime during the weekend as well. So, get your warm clothes packed because it seems like the only time this crowd gets together at Potosi is in Sub-zero weather!

Neil,
You haven't installed it yet, what are you waiting for? Did the steering arm turn out ok? Sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead of you! LOL

Steve,

The Truss and Diff Cover are installed. They fit perfectly. Now I am off to install the crossover. The arm turned out great. After talking to you on the phone about which way to twist it, Stan and I got to talking and ended up twisting it the wrong way! LOL, so we reheated it and bent it the other way! So, its correct now. I bought all the misc parts today needed for the crossover. Just washed off the steering box, going to paint everything and install it this afternoon... Better get back to work. Hope all is well in Florida!

Later,

Neil

Neil,
Glad to hear that everything fit, (like there was any doubt). Sorry I wasn't there to keep you guys straightened out with the steering issues. I am departing Florida tomorrow, Monday, in the a.m. should be back home on Tuesday if you need anything. I probably won't be in Potosi until 10 pm on Friday so find me a warm dry place to camp,LOL

Steve,

So you are coming back early? Didn't think you were coming home till Thursday. So, is Charlie and Earl going to make it? Hope so. I really like the looks of the truss and diff cover. They made it much beefier! I installed the Steering Box Saturday afternoon and bled the system. I installed the Ball Joints in the Knuckle yesterday and have everything ready to go on. Getting started on the Knuckle tonight. Hopefully it is changed out tonight and then tomorrow night is installing the draglink and test driving! Ill keep you posted.

Nick,

I dont have the 10 bolt axles removed from my old housing and will not have time before the run. I can pull them sometime and mail them to you. Let me know what you think they are worth.

Imortant!!! Ok, all the Illinois crowd needs to put your heads together and give me a meeting time for Friday. I will relay this to the St. Louis group. You can post it here if you want. Give me the skibby.

Well, I thought I had better drop a line and let you know where I stand on the 4500 project. ITS IN AND WORKING!!! I still have a little air in the line of the hydro clutch system, and a little rewiring to do, but it seems to be working as of right now, so I am going to be at the run. See all of you Friday night.

I may be slow, but I sure am fat!

How long it take to get to Potosi from the QT on 55?

I meet ya there...since it looks like no one else plans on it!!!

Well Progress on the home front as well. I installed the new knuckle with steering arm. Now all I have to do is install the dropped draglink. My front tierod is a little tweaked from Disney, so I will replace it as well. Ill keep you posted on drivability.

Nick, Potosi is about 1 hour from where we will meet.

Hey I just checked the weather forecast for Potosi this weekend. It says the lows on Friday night will be in the mid 20's and the lows Saturday will be in the low 30's. Just thought I would let everyone know.

I may be slow, but I sure am fat!

Well I will not be joining you guy's either. I was going to ride with Bryan but he has some other things to do. I was planning on riding with him. But no problem I will catch you all at the Spring run next year.

Nick,

Sounds like you are the only one driving down on Friday from IL. Tyler contacted me and is going to be in St. Louis on Thursday. Do you need directions to the QT at I55 south and Meramec Bottom Road? The Exit number is Exit 193. Go to the QT on the east side of I55 just like last year. I need you to give me a time so I can plan to meet the others from St. Louis. Let me know ASAP.

I need to hear from Mudduck as well. Will you be meeting us at I55 and Meramec Bottom Road at the QT on Friday? I am sure Bigdaddyof2 will be meeting us there as well. Just need to figure a time.

Noon it is! I will make sure Tyler meets us there, along with the rest of the St. Louis crowd. Have a safe trip. Sorry, the 10 bolt is at my parents in Northeast Missouri. I will get it to you someday. It is a 3.08 ratio.

Got the crossover done, it drives great!
