Cool thing about trucks being handed down...can`t wait to see pics of it.

I don't know about everyone else, but I have had good luck with a good battery and some new gas down the carb. They usually start right up.

Maybe not the greatest plan if you are worried about it, but it should run.

Then fix the stuff that is leaking. If it runs like sh!t is probably needs to be replaced anyway.

I did a 60 Boneville that sat in a garage from 1985 to 2010. Checked the oil. New battery. Cranked to get oil presure. Gas down carb and it fired. Filled the middle carb bowl through the overflow. Fired and ran. Did not add gas to the tank. Key was lost. I drove it around the block then onto the trailer. The 70 year old owner cried. It was her husbands car.

Trip to pick it up is planned. Going to leave Friday afternoon. Just need to get the trailer in order, pretty excited for the trip, this will be the kids first time seeing the farm too. Stopping in Bountiful to pick up Jeep parts and deliver to Meridian. Damn Jeep guys have no way to haul parts LOL Plenty of pics to come

Got her home, added fuel and a fresh battery and she fired!! Then I changed all the fluids, cap rotor and wires and she drives....Now the real work begins but I'm pretty stoked about this build. Odometer shows just shy of 70K have the original build sheet too. here's a link to my FB page with a pic

Nah man, keep it! And keep a. Chain saw in there at all times for the rustic look. Lol! Never know when you'll have to clear a trail.

I like that idea too--much better than leaving a chain saw in the bed,to bounce around and probably get swiped by some crackhead...locked under the hood out of sight is MUCH smarter!...and safer for both the saw and anyone who might make contact with it if it were in plain sight...
