1969 Blazer with BBChevy
It’s nice to see other 69 projects...

Mine was tore down years ago but PO...I’m resurrecting it but planning to modernize.
Did someone install the 396 in it before you or did you do it

Sorry for the late reply but better late than never. Actually since I've posted I'm actually thinking about A 6.0 myself. I think I will be happier and it will be a much easier fit. I also found my doghouse on another blazer from years past. Finally got the whole blazer bought last week. It's rough but it has most of my missing parts. Whats better than one blazer 2 of course!

2 are definitely better than one... I swapped a couple LS engines in these old trucks & the reliability factor along with the automatic near 400 HP stock makes the choice a no brainer.

The 6.0 is a good reliable engine. If you can get the trans with it it’d be a nice complete swap with good od depending on what your total plan ends up being. And yes, two blazers are better than one. Lol

You need to decide what you want to do with the truck. Personally I would never compare a big block to a LS. Two way different engines and two way different results.
Do you want torque way down low? Or are you willing to spin your engine to 5500 rpm and above.

To me a LS stuff is for soccer moms and should be left in new Tahoes for them. Put a big block in that blazer and be happy.
LS stuff is already so overdone, no will stop you at a car show and look. You will always get a second glance with a phat block under there.

Great points however, my soccer mom 6.0L has 100 more horsepower in a vehicle that is 2000lbs lighter than the suburban & it’s not a dedicated rock crawler...it’s going to be a daily driver with hunting trips, camping & trail riding on vacation & weekends. I will appreciate the 16 MPG as opposed to the 8 MPG. If you have the need for all that torque, put that 572 cubic inches in there...

I've been curious how a 6.0L would do for MPG in a squarebody. I only have our 08 2500hd to go by and the best it does is around 14mpg if I drive like a grandpa and that's with a 6 speed auto. But I'm pretty sure a K5 is lighter so that will help.

With a screenname that starts with "BB" aren't you pretty much required to use a big block? :D

16 mpg out of 6.0? You got proof of that?
I can show you proof of 15mpg out of my 93 454.....

My 96 3500 454/4L80 was 13.5 empty highway
My 99 2500 6.0/4L80 was 13.5 empty highway
The power wasn't even close though.
