you just robing parts off that? Will the ford front end work? isnt the pinion on the wrong side? I keep looking for chevy and dodge ones?

It looks like I'll be using this cab on the frame of an identical truck that is already shortened in the rear. The F*RD front end is better because it is hi-pinion. Keeps the DL out of the rocks and reduces u-joint angles. I'm going to use an NP241 like my brother uses for his. It's off an 88-98 IFS chevy - they switched the diff side. The NP241 is similar to a NP208 from what I hear. I had one in my big diesel Dodge with no problems. The way I'm hoping to put my drivetrain together, it should be pretty light and strong.

What should I call it? Cousin Wymore?

Nope. that was not the thought. I was just (like everyone else in the world) looking for a D60 on ebay and craigs list for my rig and was not sure if a ford one would work. After the last 6 month spending spree I have to wait for an incredible deal or next year before I get one. (or till I break the 10 bolt) IfI keep my foot out of it I just might make it.

I'm still working on getting some 60s. I know where there are about 6 near me, but I'm trying to get thru red tape.

I may be wanting 8 lug 10 bolts or D44s as "cores" if I get this to work out.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I could use some right now if anyone has any.

All I have is the stock 10 in front but if it meens a junk yard run for an 8lug to get one I will go anytime. Let me know what ever it takes. I saw a burban at the pick a part with a 12b 8 lug in stanton a few weeks ago. I started to pull it but decided to wait and just grabbed the tcase. I can also grab a truck on the weekends from work if needed too and dont mind a little traveling.

I think my brother needs an 8 lug front. Hopefully he'll stop by the thread and pipe up. I'll be needing more if I get those trucks with the 60s.

what kid of deal you giving on the d60 fronts?? i have a d44 8 lug with detroit locker, warns, crossover steering,4.56, and some tube diff cover

I don't know how much I will sell them for. I don't actually have them yet. It depends on what I get them for, and I'm having a hard time getting them. I'm also broke right now, so even if they become available, I don't know how I'll get them. But let's think positive eh? I gotta sell some stuff, that should help.

your on so cal big dawgs right? you can pm me on their with specific info screen name on their is basing110 also ... let me know whats up cause i can meet up with you and kick down some cash for the 60 when you find out how much for the lot or whatever so i can get a 60.. they are chevys from cucv's?

Good idea! I'd like to get 8 lug axles as cores so I can resell the trucks. They are CUCVs.

how good condition are the 60's gonna be in? if it makes it any cheaper i can cruise over and do some axle swaps with you. i got a buddy who has a trailer i can prob borrow if we need to tow a vehicle or whatever

In my experience they are in pretty good condition. Help swapping is always appreciated. Not fun by yourself. I have shop, trucks, forklifts, cranes, trailers where I work.

let me know david when u are readdy for some help, ill come down. cant do to much but ill lend u my good hand.

i have put my 10bolt thru heck and havent broke it yet <knock on wood> but im gonna upgrade soon so when that happens ill have a 8lug 10bolt handy

last time i was at pull lot i seen some good parts there so might be makin a run there before long too.

Let me know when you wanna hit the yards I am getting the house ready to put on the market this week but next week I should be able to go down there. Are you still on Convelescent leave? I will not be going back to work until 12June:D .

Where are you moving too? I will hit the yards anytime to lend a hand, just let me know.

I am looking to move closer to down town but with the price of housing I will prolly still live in East County. Having another baby and living in a 2 bedroom place aint gonna cut it:doah: .

Ya the rear brakes are still acting up on the truck so I think I am gonna swap to disc and try to find some Caddy calipers in the yard. I might just go with regular calipers until I can find some caddys. I also need to find a way to fix my power steering pump to keep from ripping lines off.

We can take care of all that in an afternoon.
Get the brackets from Gravelmaker (i think) in the vendor forum. They are just like my SKY brackets except lots cheaper. IMHP the best design.

Get a PS belt that is 1" longer and index the pump up away from the frame, easy. Might also need another longer belt too....I can;t remember if you have the single or dual PS belts? Dual would be better so keep it if you have it.

Also, when do you want to do the spider swap? I could weld them up anytime and bring them down.
