Anyone used this kit? Or have seen one in person? This sure is tempting, since I have no experience tuning an EFI system with a laptop, or am interested in doing so anyway.

This system just looks so simple to install and use, from having a carb, to driving to town a couple hours later with EFI.

I believe folkenheath is running FAST on his 489, and has it in his driveway thread.

Just curious but how do you not have to deal with smog in California? Do you live in an exempt county?

Hey rjfguitar, have you considered our new setup?

www.atomicefi.com

Our system has less wiring than the FAST for a much cleaner installation.

Check it out and let me know if you have any questions...

Yep, I have it on my big block, love it. Starts on post 136 of my thread in my sig. Hills don't matter, bumps don't matter, it just works. Throttle response and power improved as well.

One other thing to keep in mind is that our system also allows you to control the timing through the EFI instead of having to time the motor conventionally.

Just food for thought.

god that would be nice!!!!!!!!

well let us know what you go with...

OUCH!!! at the price of those units $2k+ I think I'd rather buy a newer engine that would get better gas mileage as well as better power. I'm kinda surprised at the price point they are marketing those at. Most guys that would buy something like that are usually fairly mechanically inclined. So a motor swap isn't that much bigger of a task. They must be marketing those to people scared of electrical connections. Cool product but WAY to much money IMO.

i just dont know why those are much more than this one.. $900 and i would have tbi.. elbeit... not the greatest i guess.. i know nothing and bet it would run better than my current setup... and not have to swap the motor...

I already have a built motor, which makes as much or more power than something like a 5.3L or something.

I wrench for a living, and frankly pulling my motor to put in a later model motor that isn't 100% bolt in, not to mention dealing with all the wiring and ECM stuff, vs. a system that I could slap on my motor that is perfectly fine, in one day. I think I'll take the 2nd option.

I do however agree with the price, sure seems like a lot of money for what you are getting. I remember 10 years ago when the Edelbrock multipoint EFI system was $2K, now it's $3K. WTF!:haha:
