Me and my dad are going to try to start working on our 1976 GMC stock Jimmy. We ordered a four-inch front lift spring and a ORD rear shackle flip to start with.

oooooooooo Bishop's gotta be real nice this time of year.

Pictures please, the truck that is. :D

trying

trying to get original pic when we got from uncle in 2002 and post current look on 32 stock suspension with fenders cut.

love that front clip.. round headlights rule...

plans

We are going to start slow with the lift and 33 inch tires which are currently on my great grandfather's 65 chevy stepside, the 32s that we are currently running will be moved to the chevy. Then some kind of camo paint job with a possible P50 WWII airplane theme as I am currently dating a marine. After, we plan to make front and rear bumpers with hitch recepticles for a detachable winch set up and lights up front. Then we will work on a rear cage so we can go convertable. Later we will put half-doors on, sliders, etc... if we ever get that far!

in awe

read your intire thred 85 octane and your one of the reasons that I (dad) decided we could give this project a try. read pb blaze also and love the low budget builds. ryoken is on a whole other level and after the two kids get done with college we might be able to try to obtain god like status but still don't think the knowledge and craftsmanahip that he displayes will come easy and i'm sorry considering a $600 stainless gas tank is extreme even he started to admit that is over the top.:haha: but I do have a bunch of stainless old snow pillow scrap panals in my back yard hum...Had this rig a long time and love it. My daughter loves it even more and I have encouraged her to off road as much as possible as living in Bishop it is one of the highlightes as 14000 foot mnts on both sides of the valley and dirt roads galore it is a dream for hunting and fishing and getting out away from what is the rest of california, known to locals as gods country and truely remote and beautiful with yosimite and whitney in our back yard.

Sounds like a good plan, that should allow you too keep wheeling between major steps...Enjoy working with your dad...it will be a great experience!
