That current paint job is way better than camo!

I agree! Don't paint that thing camo, it is just too sharp the way it is. If you want camo, I'd trade you mine.

Good project rig! Enjoy the time with dad, the skills learned and the time spent is irreplaceable!! Might even get the daughters involved.
Make it a rule to wheel between modifications. Otherwise it just stays in the garage or driveway.
My dad gave me my first welding lessons tonight. We started by mocking up a cardboard template for a stereo bracket, transferred that to a sheet of metal, and then cut it out with a sawzall. After, we made a 90 degree plate to help support the radio and to prevent it from always falling in when I go offroading, then welded it on.
We at first welded it on to the top front.. oops. Also caught the trashcan on fire haha
Second time got it right, not too bad for my first time welding![]()

absolutely!!!
that reminds me of my 76, except yours looks nice. and probably drives so, its way better.
i have a buddy that lives out in bishop. i'm hoping to get out there and do some camping next month, it looks b e a utiful.
X100!!! One of the reasons my K5 is going so slowly is I refuse to cripple it in the driveway and HAVE to leave it setting any amount of time.
A good friend of mine started a neat CJ based pickup build, but didn't listen to me when I tried to just get it running first where he could play with it. He got burnt out REALLY quick and it all went for scrap. I didn't have room or need for it so I couldn't stop it.
Definitely going to keep it running and use it. We wheel it all the time as it is old, has some body damage on right side from when my uncle daughter drove it while in high school. Put a stock 350 in it a few years back so it is very reliable and drives good up to highway speeds still. We just want to get it up to 35" or 37" tires to improve clearance and have fun while learning along the way. Great forum and people here, tons of useful info way past my current skills. Daughter is constantly out in it and loves exploring and wheeling. She has had more then one call home for a rescue party, a couple of pretty good sticks but she is learning along the way!
