found this on yahoo, granted it is just one persons opinion but the sheep will follow because they belive that if its on tv or internet as long as its not from fox then it must be true.

the first thing that jumped out at me was the second point. not letting it warm up does cause premature engine failure, and also even though it is less noticable on newer fuel injected rigs, your fuel milege is effected.

the 3rd point is is iffy, how maintained? motor wise possibly but carbon buildup and just normal wear and tear will eventually lead to a little loss in fuel economy. suspension, shocks tires, all age and effect perfomance overtime could you replace all that throughout the years of course but then its not a 10-15 year old vehicle anymore, its mechanically new.

the air filter one just makes me laugh, common sense people

the additives are a yes and no, fuel system treatments act as a milage booster because as it cleans the carbon buildup up it brings the motor back closer to when it was new, but that dont mean you can just keep dumping cans in and expect it to get better than new.

the fuel i agree with, if it wasent designed to run on a higher octane fuel, then your not gonna see a difference. just a waste of octane

now read through the comments, the sheep fall right in, yes some agrue the same points i do, but the one chick with the ford focus is like no no no the dealer said i have a life time filter it never needs replaced. there are thousands of people out there that think the same way.

for the politics side, its just another scam to force people out of V8's and into econo boxes

Half of that lack of common sense is people that are not "car savvy" believing everything the greasy car salesman told them...

I recall my Dad being told the suspension on the 79 Impala station wagon was a proto-type for next years Caddy, and God love him he not only believed it but told many of his friends. :doah:

It's easy to be ignorant when you don't know anything about cars, and don't have a few extra years to learn. Worse yet, where does a person who is not smart about cars turn to? It's more than likely the first sources for info they find will be bogus, and BS too. How else do those additive companies make money? They prey on people that don't know better, which is the vast majority out there.
