Guys,i have had this problem for a while now , if i keep my rig in first gear and lightly tap the throttle its seems as if the whole drive train is moving under me, :dunno:i have checked the following:

Engine and gearbox/transfer case mounts/rubbers are ok

The joints at either end of the shaft/prop shaft are ok

Is it possible that there is a shaft or something in my NP205 that is moving back and forwards?

Or could even be back lash from my rear axle ?

Transmission ? TH350

Need help on this one guys as my daughters are getting near the age i can take them in it :D, and just want it to be super safe.

recheck these.. just cuz they look good doesn't mean anything... have someone put there foot on the brake and watch the motor when he puts it in gear...

any oil on the front of your rear dif? i'd also take a look at your leaf spring bushings...

Now you mention it there is a little under were the input shaft (if thats what you call it)goes in also a friend was following me the other day and said i was throwing transmission oil so i looked underneath and were the breather hose comes out of the top of the t/c it was soaked in oil, could that be anything to do with this ?

any noise? you could have a pinion bearing letting loose...

No noise, would there be alot of play then if this pinion bearing is going ?

Also sorry to ask you so many questions, any idea why im throwing oil out of the breather on top of the transfer case ?

usually if the pinion is bad enough to have play, it'll be leaking oil at that point..

generally, the only thing that'll make a case spew oil out the vent is an overheat condition, or overfilled... has your transmission been going thru any ATF? pull the fill plug on the 205 and see if ATF comes out, iirc, if the rear seal on the 350 goes bad, it'll pump ATF into the 205... but I'm not 100% on that....

Thanks so much for the info , i will have a look tonight, im guessing changing the rear seal on the th350 is a transmission removal thing ?

iirc, no.... but it definitely is a 205 and adapter removal...
