I was trimming the fenders today and stumbled accross the reason the original owner didn't maintain the truck very well.... he ran out of tools! I found a nearly complete socket set (individually of course), 4 wrenches, a set of pliers and 2 screwdrivers in the fender crook behind each tire. But no left socks, sorry!

So THATS where my tools have dissapeared too!. I've dropped several tools into the engine bay of various Chevy/GMC trucks only to find they've never come out the bottom nor can be found anywhere inside. Is there any easy way to get into this area without cutting it appart?

That must be where all my missing tools are!!You can just unbolt the inner fender and drop it out.

I found two socks balled up with mud on them behind my drivers side marker light a few weeks ago. Sounds like I should go back and look for tools /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

The first time I trimmed my fenders I started with a torch. I found leaves, pine straw, and bondo-the hard way!

A buddy of mine was cutting on a cruiser body with a plasma torch and found some 30-06 shells
the hard way.

heheh, I just cut mine last week. There were two screw drivers and a 1/2 wrench in there. There was also half the national forest packed in there. sticks, leaves, pine needles, dirt, rocks. I was surprised no animals came skittering out of there.
