Anybody had any luck with US Body Source parts, I recieved my hood from them two months ago and have had the worst time fitting this hood, for being a factory style replacement I've had to do everything from adding 3/8 of an inch down one side of the hood to, cutting the radiator support, to notching the cowl to clear the windshield wipers and also the driver side had a hump almost 5/32" in the side of it above the fender. didn't know if this was the norm for them?

Its their work .I had a hood from the same company for a 86 Mustang I finally got so frustrated with the hood and the customer service that it now resides at the back of my property helping to hold up the targets for my practice range.Poor quality ,had lots of waves ,the fit was horrible and was kinda lop sided. But what should I have exspected for $199 right?

What are the specs on your truck? I moved away from there a few months ago. Just wondering if I have seen you around.

you often get what you pay 4.

US body source has 2 "levels" of quality to their products. The cheaper panels, what I think they call thier racing grade panels, have very little support or bracing and are often described like the hood above. The more expensive line has more metal bracing and is...well... more expensive. I can't vouch for the quality of the more expensive panels cause I've never bought one. But USBS told me they are better quality.

It wasn't one of their cheap hoods I'll tell you that, I finished all the fiberglass work and am in the process of priming it this week, hope to have it painted by next week. Wound up with over 46 hrs of work to get the hood to fit. I'll never buy from them again.

Kick ass!

I was in Virginia Beach for a little over 4 years, just left there in November. I was kinda thinking you were the guy with the big red '86 K5. I guess it was because of the name.

No this one was only on the road for 6 months when I got it and it's been in the garage for the last two years, trying to finish for super chevy in june.
