fiberglass k5 made by who?

stainless steel linkages

worked out the double shifter linkage and took a photo of the ranger od linkage, there all stainless steel had the round bar laying around so put it to good use.. This way they match the stainless clutch pedel & z-bar linkages :D

I got to toy around with the transfer case now that she is finaly got linkages... she is rigged for front wheel drive!!!!!! scored big!!! I thought the sm465 gear box looked to be rebuilt by the service plugs every where and I suspected by advance adapters by the attached ranger,, Now I know the transfer cast has been re built also and the shift pins were cut or changed so that the k5 can be put in to neutral on the rear and in to 4wd lo or hi on the front shifter.... I have my tranny cover off so with no drive shaft I tested by watching the front yoke spin with the rear in neutral!!!

more work

I busted the glass in the top to make room for the lexan speedglass, I plan to use the black top on the yellow 1977 k5 blazer. I am going to switch the tops for a week or so be for painting to see if I like the roof black or white on the yellow truck.. The body work is about finished on the 79 so soon I can pull the tub and under coat...

click on go advanced at the bottom.. when that window opens up, you'll see a little youtube icon, click it then copy/paste whatever comes after the =

here's stomis's guide..

Step one: Find a nice video to share with us on youtube. Remember to use your best judgment on sharing. If the video is NSFW (Not safe for work) please mark the post and determine whether it belongs in the Pig Pen or not.

Step two: While your viewing your video look up at the Address bar on the top of your browser. For those that dont know the address bar is the place you type in web address' when browsing the web. For this part I'm gonna use a good piece of music as an example as you'll see in the next step.

Step three: Left click your cursor/pointer in the address bar. It will highlight the entire address shown. If for some reason it doesnt you can hold the CTRL key and press the A key and it will highlight it again. Now right click and select copy. Alternatively you can also hold CTRL and press C if your a little more shortcut savvy.

Step four: Return to the CK5 (They always do! *insert evil laugh*) window you have open creating your post or reply. Now the powers above at the forums here have been so kind as to include a youtube button so you can eliminate having to type part of the code in. Locate this button and press it. Your post text should now look like this:

Quote:
YOUTUBE][/YOUTUBE

For the example I have taken out the opening and closing brackets so the code will show to you, dont do this or it wont work!

Step five: Remember that address we copied from your video? We're gonna use that now. Right click in your text between the closing bracket and opening bracket of the two "Youtube" words and click paste. CTRL+V can also be used as a shortcut. Your post/reply should now look like this.

Quote:
YOUTUBE]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtCxjhrqfZ4[/YOUTUBE
For the example I have taken out the opening and closing brackets so the code will show to you, dont do this or it wont work!

Step six: This is what everyone gets confused about. You now need to delete part but not all of the youtube link you posted in the code.

What you want to delete is everything except the numbers and letters after "v=". So we want to turn tp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtCxjhrqfZ4 into RtCxjhrqfZ4.

This is our videos serial number sort of speak. Because the youtube code already knows you accessing youtube leaving the rest of the address in confuses it. Since confused computers dont think for them selves instead of fixing it it just doesnt work.

Again your text should look like this

Quote:
YOUTUBE]RtCxjhrqfZ4[/YOUTUBE
Step seven: Click post! Your video will be embedded into the reply / post. It seems like a lot to do but once you get the hang of it it cake.

built axles

Well I picked up a set of axles today..... I was told that the set was a dana 60 front and 14 bolt rear and that both had axles and diff's put in....

At first look I'd say the front axle is a 10bolt with 8 lug axles :doah:.... I dont think the 10 bolt ever came with 8 lugs like the dana 44 did, so think this was done when the axles were changed out.... Ther rear is a 14 bolt and both front and rear axles have diff's added but still have to check the ratios and axle spline....

I'd have walked away from even the built 10 bolt, even at $800 for the set with the 14 bolt. If I did not have 2 k5's... I have planed to build a set of 1/2 ton axle for the 79 street truck... What I will most likly do is split this set and put the built 10 bold under the street truck with 35" rubber and re build the 12 bolt and go to 8 lug axles.. For the 77 I'll just have to buy a dana 60 and use it with the 14 bolt.... At least both truck will run the same patern, and the 14 bolt is a disk rear.....

now I just need to find some one who built a 60 and 10 bolt :dunno:
-55.jpg

it's an 8 lug 44 or 10 bolt depending on yr.. same thing... dana 60 is 3 U-bolts, then 2 bolts.. that has 4 U-bolts..

ya thats what I checked right b4 checking the diff.. The spring pad is the 4 u bolt one :doah:its a 10 bolt or a 44... I dont know what year truck the front axle was pulled from but it look exactly like the 10 bolt fronts on my trucks 77 and 79..... I will not know the spline count on the axle untill I pull one and count it then I'll know if there after market or not.. I can tell the axles have been both gone thro and have tru & diffs in them.... I checked that b4 loading them....

I have heard after market axles are good for up to a 39" in mud... I will only run 35" on the red truck so the little axle will do her fine....

I want the red k5 built factory,,, shooting 4 built 1/2 tun axles, 350 4 bolt, 700r4, np205/203 doubler, 35" rubber.

I want the yellow truck bult for mud, built 1 tun axles, 350 4 bolt, ranger O/D, sm465, "atlas doubler" 40" rubber.

still need parts to make it happen..... but the list is gitting shorter.....

up date....
Well its a pain to put 8 lug onto a a 12 bolt, I just have to run this axle set with the 14 bolt on the smaller truck.....
