just for an update....
awhile back I had a stock locking hub that would intermittenly cause a ratchetting sound. well, today I was bored enough and the weather was warm enough, about 35, to put some new Warn premiums on.
the old driver's side was toast-the innermost snap ring had the ears half broken and was chewing into the metal
so after pulling out them sumbeaches I smeared some caliper grease to grab the loose metal dust then wiped it out pretty good and installed the new hubs. bearing grease still looked good. hmmm... the O-ring for the stock hubs was all dry and cracked... no wonder they didn't seal worth crap.
for the stock hubs the driver's side is on the left passenger's side on right. then new warn hubs.
