Finally... my 5.3 swap

I drove it for the first time last night!

Man, this thing is a handful; Power gains surpassed my expectations. Between the trans goodies and the base tune, it is quick.

Still a ways to go as far as getting everything fine tuned. Need to fab up my fan mounts and other odds and ends. I'm ready for the blazer to be DD status! [emoji6]

Sweet man! I bet a 5.3 in a fairly stock blazer like yours would scoot pretty good! Mine in my burb does a fair bit better than the old 350,so Ican imagi ne it would make the Blazer feel pretty good!

Well even with the big tires it does surprisingly well, I am happy to say the least.

Made some progress in the few hours I had this evening.

Got my power distribution block completed and I am very happy how it came out.

The two relays in the upper left are for my HI/LO HID headlights. Then starting from left to right the relays go : fuel pump, fan 1, fan 2, ignition 1, ignition 2. The large 30a maxi fuses are for the cooling fans. Lower left is a diode and two 20a maxi for the HIDs. Then the standard blade fuses are speedo (5a), pcm constant (15a), fuel pump (10a), ignition 1 and 2 (15a)

These fuse blocks come out of late 90s ferds and I have used them before. Easy to repin and customize.

I normally sand the ferd emblem off the cover and then spray it with bedliner to retexture it. [emoji41]

Here is an engine bay pic

Don't mind the elephant truck for an intake, I have yet to fab up a mount for the factory air box.

Got it back from exhaust, I'm happier than a dead pig in the sunshine! I'll get yall some pics [emoji1]

Alright I just got in from putting a power steering pump on it. I go to test drive it and the CEL starts flashing and it gradually develops a severe misfire. Keep in mind that the (used) O2 sensors are now plugged in since exhaust was done, but it seemed to run fine on the way home (2mi). I have a scanner at work I'll plug in tomorrow and see what's going on.

Y'all got any ideas?

Maybe check that the O2's are plugged in to the correct sides? I've seen a couple have that problem over on ls1tech and once they got them switched over the engine ran fine and the CEL went away...
