Ok, I just shaved and threw the 14BFF in yesterday and today along with new rear springs, so I have very minor things left to do on the truck. I know most of them, because they are individual projects, but there has to be a lot of generally universal things I am forgetting.

Ok here's the few projects I need to get done (not coutning major fab work)

Rear U Joint
Front Shocks
Tourque Everything Down
Wire In Winch
Fill All Fluids
Bleed Brakes
Bolt Up Front Shaft
Wire In Fuel Gauge
Front Hub Install

The Fluids I Can Think Of Are

Power Steering
Transmission
Differential
Brake Fluid
Motor Oil

So overall I've swapped in new steering, suspension, and axles

Is there anything you can think of that I am missing?

(Besides Shoving Golf Balls In The Tires....)

Oh yeah, what is the proper tightness for crown nuts on steering link ends? Mine are pretty damn tight.....

Anyway, have some pictures

Well if my amazing stint off getting of my lazy ass keeps up, sometime next week

I need to pull the van gas tank to cut out the cab bottom to drop in part of the new subframe and make better supports for the gas tank, otherwise I could propbably drivie it around tomorrow, that is of course if it doesnt blow up/break/not start/ not shift/leak bad/overheat

Thank you for the compliment

Ok if you don't feel like reading through the whole top post, here's the stuff I REALLY need to know

- Is there any wierd process to bleeding power steering?
- How tight should the crown nuts on the steerinbg links be?

Re: Finishing Up The Truck - All The Small Little Wrap Up Things - With Pic

You need less lift, bigger tires, and narrower rims. /forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif

Hey I always told you it was too tall! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I would like some 39.5" IROKS.......

Hey everbody I'm typing with really greasy hands, I need answers to those last two questions

Re: Finishing Up The Truck - All The Small Little Wrap Up Things - With Pic

start the motor, take off the cap to the p.s.

then just cycle the steering slowly a couple of times, also put the cap back on..dont ask /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

oh and dont try to fill while truck is running..unless you want to have a grimy face too...dont ask /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

as for the nuts I would just tighten till its hard to turn, then another 1/2 turn and slide the cotter pins in /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I just got mine on the road too /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

new axels, gears, lockers, cross over, motor, wiring, cross over....and more /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Off topic-- Nice garage!. Is it a "Miracle Truss" building?.I almost bought one of them, but ended up getting a steelmaster quonset hut garage. Its a good building, but sometimes I wish I had rafters and wall studs, when you want to lift something or make shelves /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif.Your truck is coming along nicely too!. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The way I bled my PS system was to jack the front up to where both tires were off the ground, then get in and start the truck. Turn slowly from bumpstop to bumpstop. It will sound nasty, but eventually you work most of the air up. After you can get some power assist when you let it back down, continue to do this until all foaming stops.

There are a few ways to do it I'm sure, but how I always done it (and I have done it quite a few times) and am told this is the most proper way to, is NOT start the truck...jack the front with tires off ground, have one person in and turn lock to lock, while other guy fills the reservoire until you don't see bubbles.
(if you have a cooler and hydro ram, this will take awhile)
Fluid will move up and down, so make sure you tell the guy to stop when fluid is about to come pouring out...once it's settled...tell him to continue...you may have to buy him a 12 pack or two for his efforts...
