Somone 3d printed this rear cup holder. With some modifications this can be an interesting location for a fire extinguisher.

I saw that cup holder thingy on FB, pretty cool. Sadly my 91 doesn't have that ashtray pocket.

That said, I have a cage in my Blazer and plan to put an extinguisher at the base of each "A" pillar tube and a 3rd somewhere in the back easily reached from the tailgate.

I've tossed around the idea of getting one of those extinguisher systems they make for race cars for under the hood. A few of years ago I had the positive battery cable melt / ground on the header collector and completely melted the alternator wiring, really scary when I realized what happened.

I have one behind the driver seat and one mounted next to my 203 shifter on the trans tunnel for my Blazer. I've been thinking of adding another behind the rear seats as well for the Blazer.

The c10 has one under the passenger side of the bench seat. They're really limited options for the c10 but I have to have one so under the seat is the only spot. It's the same one I have for the blazer mounted on the transmission tunnel.

I also have a master kill switch at the rear mounted battery.

I have two purple K's on the crawler mounted to the B pillar behind each seat using Dueling's quick release mounts. The mall crawler has one behind the front seat.

@Babaganoosh "Depends if you put the fire out. I have a 10lb on the back of my tool box and a 1 or 2 in the cab. I seriously want the suppression system."

i understand that but at the same time I doubt anyone is going to have 5-10 fire extinguishers on their rig. Maybe they would but I think that falls into overkill. Especially in regards to the space for them

True, I’m scared of a fire so I don’t think you could go overkill.

But then again I think overbuilt is just enough.

I mounted mine at the bottom of the seat next to the doors on both sides. I figure if there's a fire in the cab you'd be jumping out so you could still grab them there and be out of the truck. Also quick to grab if you're already outside the truck.

Mine is right in front of the driver seat on the floor. Exiting the vehicle is number one priority, grabbing the release handle and extinguisher is pretty easy when its right there.

Do you have dry chemical or Halon? Dry chemicals can ruin an engine.

I was in the process of writing "Halguard is so cheap why wouldn't you have one", when it dawned on me I should see what they cost nowadays. I have a 2.5lber, and holy crap at what they cost. I think this one was changed out 2 years ago. I'm pretty certain its now like 120% price increase.

Mine are ABC. Small one mounted on trans tunnel, larger one on C hoop. I’ve got the TJ/Zim combo special. Really need to teach the wife how to use one :(

I think Halon is being phased out. Just like r124 freon.

I have one of the Element extinguishers in each of my rigs. Hopefully never need them. They are small, don’t need recharged, and last way longer than a regular stingisher!

Lol. Going to be way easier to smuggle fire extinguishers across the border than it was the big R12 tanks, could only fit one tank in place of the propane tank on pop-up campers. Fire extinguishers sir? Yes I have 24 in my camper... I'm scared of fire.
