Firewall insulation

what all has to come out to replace that? ....looks like it doesn't just slip on and up....looks like there are holes for each wire and cable that goes through the firewall....what a nightmare if that's the case :dunno:

I believe the stocker has slits from each hole to the top of the piece, then it is glued to the firewall. Same could be done with this piece if it isn't already slitted.

I just took an '85 cab apart, and a bunch of things had to be removed to get it out. Even the little center support rod from the dash to the firewall.

When I cut out Hortons dash and finally took all that stuff out it seems like they must have put it there right after the bare stamping of that piece took place :D

Thanks....I don't think I will be doing that...I need to take a closer look at it and see if I really need to change it or not...the big reason I thought about it is that I got overspray on it...plus it is really dusty...maybe I can vacuum it and put something on it...it eats black spray paint...doesn't color it at all...

I understand, but that is where mine started going back together.
