First Attempt 71 rebuild: running again!

Got the u joint situation all fixed; went with the conversion and bought a couple extra in case they fail. It seemed like the easier solution. Now I have run into the issue of the headers I have; I got them thrown in with the deal when I bought the motor, and thought they fit; and they did....until I went to hook up the clutch rod to the pivoting arm. :doah: Now I have to figure out a different solution. People who are running headers on a manual transmission first gen, where did you get your headers from?

Did you get the Blazer rolling again? Hopefully you got it out some to enjoy the summer!

sort of. the blazer has been on the back burner for a while. i ended up buying a house/farm with a 102 acre property and ive been crazy busy working on it and playing in my new tractor. i have an awesome garage/workshop with 12 foot bay door though, so im really pumped for that.

I did get the blazer out on the road once but it didnt go so well. after about a half hour the engine would just die off and stop firing, i would push in the clutch and it would come back though. it was very weird. after one time that it did that, it let off a huge back fire when it came back which actually blowing a hole in my muffer splitting it right down the side seam. i havent had a chance to work on it since. i am suspecting either the distributor or carburetor issue.

hopefully ill get my truck down here soon from my girlfriends parents where it currently is and get back to working on it soon. in the meantime here are some pics of my new garage :D

Finally got the Blazer to my new house and into the garage. Hoping to get a chance to get back at it. Next is to figure out this wiring issue, and then onto some body work.

Blazer is running again. Found a loose connection off the battery to the wiring harness. Also installed the front drive shaft and fixed the 4 wheel drive. Front drivers side hub was busted. The tabbed ring that the cam wheel pushes in had a broken tab, so I made and welded on a new one. Then I took her for a test drive for the first time in my back yard as you can see!
