First gen vs 2nd questions.

Its been quite some time since I sat in a first gen K5. Looking at building one now but thinking about my kids and backseat legroom. What are my workarounds can it seat an adult comfortably?

Will I be able to use axles or springs swapped across? Seems I remember the first gens are narrower?

Factory wheel bolt pattern the same?

You could mount the seat further back in a first gen K5 to gain easier access to the rear seat and more leg room..

I think the front axles up to '77 will bolt up to a '69-72 K5,the rear axle has different shock mounts--not sure about the spring pads,those
may have to be moved if you put a later axle in one,I think the '73 up rear axles are a bit wider too,not by a lot though..

Moving shock mounts is no big deal front perches might be the bigger deal.

As far as the rear seat it appears to mount directly to the floor pan? Unlike the 2nd gens that mount on a raised floor...am I seeing that correctly

Front perches are in the same place. No worries there.
Also correct on the seat, no footwell for the rear seat, the floor is flat all the way back.

As are I believe up to 76 in the second gens too. No footwell. Flat floor to the front seats
