You can see the gap between the frame and the crossmember in that picture. It HAS been dropped. That is usually done to eliminate driveline vibrations.

I see it now, didn't notice it before. Looks as though there is a spacer installed.
The 'spacer' is actually a factory piece. Except, from the factory, it is installed above the framerail so that the x-member is bolted flush to the frame. Not sure why they did it that way, but a lot of people have performed this mod to reduce vibration.
It's not really wrong to do it, but you should use a solid spacer as mentioned before. There are also limits to how far you can drop it. It helps the rear angle, but hurts the front angle. It also reduces ground clearance and brings your cooling fan closer to touching the shroud.

I get the reduces ground clearance part with dropping the crosmember down but not the cooling fan part unless youre thinking this has a body lift which it doesnt.

dropping the transfer case down, means you are dropping the back end of the drivetrain down. and you are pivoting on the engine mounts. So if you have a clutch fan it will rasie up with the engine and if you do a big enough drop, it will start to hit the shrouding.
That mount is the only thing that mounts anything behind the motor mounts. You angle that down and the motor changes angles too. The fan is connected to the motor, changing its angles also

the way it sits now, it shouldnt be hitting. And with the driveshaft it has you shouldnt need to go anymore, heck you could even take the spacers out and just change the rear axle angle.

Looks real nice. What size blocks are on it? At least with the shackle flip it can use smaller lift springs to still be able to flex well. With the 37s you are already getting into oneton territory. It's pretty good size now and if you plan on 40s and no cutting on the body you're going to need a couple more inches of lift. Looks like the previous owner took pretty good care of it. Hope fully you got a decent deal on it. Come home safe and ill be watching to see what you do to it when you are stateside again. It sucks to be so far away and have all these build ideas that you can't do yet. At least you can web wheel for now and run around in humvees over there. I miss driving mine. They were fun to play in when you were on to the next charley Oscar mike. Lol

Thanks man, not sure about the size of the blocks. If I had to guess I'd say 3-4", they will for sure be coming out. We're in the process of buying a house so I'll have a lot of honey do-s to complete before I can even start on the blazer. Tons are at the top of the list along with Crossover steering and all. Still not 100% if I will be running 40's or not but more life will definately be needed. The truck was in his family since new, I paid 5k for it which seems like a pretty good deal with the shape it is in and what little bit is on it. I'll post progress of any mods/building that goes on when I get home thats for sure. As far as being gone it does suck not being able to do anything or even drive it while watching everyone on here do so much, I have put more miles on my scroll wheel on my mouse then some have put on their wheelers lol.

Yeah mines been sitting awhile. I did a ton of body work last winter. Then a tree fell on it. I've been so down on it I havnt touched it since. I had it almost where I wanted it then wammo hurricane sandy. You have a good platform to start with at least. I think for five grand it is a decent deal. It looks pretty rust free and all. That's where most guys need the most work and have the least knowlege on. I have probly a hundred hours or more into the body work. Still isn't perfect but it looks a whole lot better than when I parked it 5 years ago. Now gota
