first pics of my truck on here

The interior cage consists of standard 2 inch rollcage tubing. I'm not really sure of the spects on the tubing, but it's standard rollcage material.

Yes, the seats are Beard seats. They are some older seats that I had some heavier nogahide and padding added to at a local shop around the corner from my house. No, I don't drive the truck every day, it's pretty much just my toy. The seats are very comfortable, though, especially after being out all day on the trail, being that it's a fully supended seat. There's nothing to really dig into your back.

I see the H/F bender in the back ground. Is that what you used to bend all of your steel? I just got one my self and was hopeing it would work. BTW Nice ride. Hope to hook up with on the trail sometime soon. I'm sure if you hook up with Rob & Marv you will get to test your bumpers/sliders and maybe your cage /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

SWEEEEEETTTTTTTT!!!!!!
what front springs are they? how much lift do you have in the front with springs? I want to put 52's up front but I don't know which springs(lift wise) to get. I need 8" of spring lift.

the bender is a harbor frieght. yes i know rob and marv went out with them yesterday ,and your wright i got to test out my sides and every thing els. we ran uper woodpecker. had a blast every thing work great other then my fuel pump. real pleased with the the truck is performing.

so maybe a 6" rear could give me my 8-81/2. thats about what I was thinking would work. do you know the spring rate? lbs? on yours?

I just finshed installing rear 52" springs on my truck a couple weeks ago.I used a pair from an '85 K/5,removing the overload leaf and adding an bottom leaf from a Rough Country front 4" spring pack.It gives about 5 1/2" lift.If you are looking for a total of 8" lift,I'd go with the 52's,add an extra leaf and then go with some "zero" rates, and you will need longer shackles.I have the ORD design which are 1" longer, but I now need even longer shackles(another inch!).I believe the stock spring rate is around 200#.I love the soft springs.Mike

I need a total of 8" spring lift. I have 4" fronts now with longer shackles giving me a total of 5". I upped to 44's and I need more lift to clear tires under compression. I have 2" rancho in the rear now. was thinking of trying them up front and see what I get before I buy a set.

Why don't you tell the rest of those front spring setup. The 52" with the revolvers. DAMN!!! those things flex like a mother. I was shocked at how far he flex his tire on one obstical. He had MAJOR droop. and the revolver wasn't even maxed out yet. This guy and the rest of them out there this weekend (Marv, Fred, and Rob) made me feel real bad about myself and my truck. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif At least now I realize what I need to do to my truck to get it up to par.

Alright, here's the full story on my front suspension. It all actually started after I ran into a large rock, and bent my old spring mounting point on the front of my frame along with the frame. So I had to restraighten the frame and while I was at it I got to thinking of how I was going to mount things that's when I decided I would try to use longer springs knowing that I had to make a new mounting point and that I had messed up my old bumper I included the mounting point as part of the bumper by incorporating a 1/2 inch thick piece of plated steel as my platform then I had been seeing the revolvers in the magazines and on some other trucks but never in the front of a fullsize so I figured I'd try it and if I didn't like it I would just convert back. Had to fab up some new mounts for the rear that fix them in place and do crossover so explaining the exact dimensions is a little hard to do being that I just kinda evolved as I continued to build. I'll get some more pictures up to show things a little better. Thanks for all the great comments on my truck!

I really like the cage and the way you incorporated the seat mounts into it /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
HMMM....(adds cage to list to things to do) /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
