Fitech troubles (maybe)

Hey, I only say something when people complain about their aftermarket efi.
I am happy with mine and don't care about others they can run what they want.

Wasn't directed at you, it was a general comment. I think most of us understand that TBI is sufficient for some but not all.

well i changed coil and o2 sensor it has spark but wont even start now.
tomorrow i will see if it has enough fuel pressure and go from there.
i have 12 volts to dizzy have 12 volts to fitechs white wire
cant get ecu to respond at all

Handheld is not responding or ECU?

Didn't you have this apart for a clogged injector at one point?

Took an injector out for cleaning yes, the hand held works just won't talk to ecu
It says Ecu no response

As far as tuning an ECM for a TBI system with modifications.................There is only one person I can think of that would be able to tune the TBI to run with any configuration or add on. eagle mark. RIP brother.
i cant even read that yellow . . . but i know who we are talking about . . .

Is there a fuse for the ECU? Check all related fuses, one of them may have blew after the motor wash

I want to KICK MYSELF IN THE ASS!!!!!!!! I PULLED THE CAP AN LOOKED AT THE STUPID THING 5 TIMES!! the little button under the coil was broke in pieces but still held in the cap. it started and ran.
the hand held wont communicate with the ecu on or off and ill call em monday about that.

I haven't driven it the last 30 minute the wind picked up and im so cold im having a hard time typing. ill go drive it here in a minute. my guess is when i washed it was warm and broke the button from the cold water.

Guess the lesson i should learn is check the little stuff first pull it apart completely and inspect it not just look at it...

its still messed up but i can drive it o 7 11 if need be but dont trust it......

Does that system have a Throttle Position Sensor?
I have a Howell Tbi system on a Jeep and it got wet one time and fried that sensor.

I've been thinking about buying one of these aftermarket systems, I want to keep fuel Injection but want the freedom to do what I want to the motor, but the more I read none of them seem bulletproof at all.

Nothing is bulletProff and yes it has throttle position sensor but can't tell if it is working hand held won't connect to ecu

Edellbrock multiport seems to have less trouble but you will have to work to get what you want no matter if it's carb efi or whatever....

The EBL system from Dynamic EFI is sort of a hybrid that uses stock GM stuff with interface and software upgrades to the factory computer. Much easier to tune and you have tech support to help. Mine has been working great.

The only thing that crosses my mind is that these computers are 30 years old. I worry about mine just taking a dump when I'm out in the boonies. Anyone have a sense of how common it is for the computers to croak from old age? I guess I really never thought about it until right now, but does GM still make the old TBI computers for repair parts, like a guy could pay for a new one if he was crazy enough? If they do make them, I imagine they are crazy expensive.
