fitting 40x13.5 17s

Well finally got the 40s ordered, now just have to make them fit. Getting ready to order front springs, and am thinking 4" since I have zero rates and a 60. Think I should go 6"???? Plan on moving front end forward an inch or so, on then trim fenders, limit uptravel as needed.

With plans of moving the front diff forward, is crossover mandatory, and what pitman arm if I go with the 4" springs and crossover.

I got my pitman from ORD. Crossover is pretty much mandatory if you want to wheel the thing. I pieced my crossover together but buying a kit is always convenient.

I ran push pull steering, stock drag link, no block or drop pitman arm to correct angle with my axle ahead 1.5". It worked.....not very good.

Crossover was like night and day.

I run a 5" suspension/3" Body lift with 13/38/16 on a 10" rim, bushwhacker cutouts. Had decent amount of rubbing till I moved the axle ahead. Plenty of clearance for 40s now.

I wanted to give the pro comps a try, but I have had such good luck with the smaller toyos, and they work very good in the snow conditions that I use them, just didnt want to drop that kinda money with any chance of them not working like the toyos have for me.

Oh what the EFF ever, it's all the same haha

It is! Theyre made by maxxis anyway!

The pro comps are awesome. Ive been through the rubicon and half of fordyce without a locker so far lol. I was going to get toyos but they were on a 6 week back order....same with nitto.

I located a set of h2 wheels, but would like to know for sure, is a spacer needed to run them? I see some guys use a spacer, but maybe just for looks? the plan is to get either staz works or hutchinsons in the future, but that is another 2 grand away.

Well, got the tires, and the wheels will be here tuesday. I had thought about running 52s and some sort of sway bar, but have a pile of 56s and only 1 52.

Any drawbacks to the 56s? For the use this will get, stock lenght front lift springs would be plenty flexy, just trying to save a little money, to use for other parts. What about axle position with the 56s? I would like an inch or two forward.

Well this thing is finally coming together. Used tuff country 4 inch springs in the front with a zero rate, and front end moved forward right at 2". Some trimming at the front of the wheel opening, and the rear of the opening is looking like any trimming will be really minor. Still have to figure out what drag link and pitman arm to use.
