I did a lot of searching on how to do this and came up with tons of info but not many pictures, so thought I would post how I made the wheels fit incase anyone else was thinking about fitting gm wheels on their Dodge.

The wheels we have are Hummer H2s that we had on a 01 GMC Duramax, we want to fit them to a 2012 Cummins.

Problem is the hub centre needs to be opened up to 4 3/4 inches. I used the router method with a 1/2 inch flush cut carbide bit as I learned on the google search.

There is a nice groove the factory put in the rim that the bearing at the end of the bit can follow and is at the 4 3/4 inch size needed.

The way to do it is from the backside of the wheel. Set the depth of the router to the groove and start milling!
Only takes a couple minutes to do one wheel.

I cleaned up the cut with a sanding wheel on a drill just to make it a bit nicer.

Pics on truck?

I just did the cutting today. The wheels when we got them were badly corroded, we had them blasted and powder coated a few years ago but they didn’t turn out great and need a tune up paint job. Hopefully this weekend they will be on.
Also need to find two more Dodge Center caps and cut them down to fit the wheels.

I’ll show how I cut the Center caps when I get them.

I have them on a dodge with BFG AT 315s. I like them better than after market wheels.

I like it Dean! Looks like the router worked great!

Die grinder, wouldn't recommend it but it worked. I like the router idea.

Thanks Dave!

I screwed up on the post... the pictures were intended to go in between the paragraphs. But I don’t seem to know how to do that?
Wondering if a moderator could fix that for me or tell me how!? :D

That was a option but I didn’t feel like taking everything too our shop. I don’t have air in my garage. The router and bit I borrowed from my neighbour.
Guys said a 4 3/4 inch hole saw works good too. I didn’t have one and they are 60 bucks.
I was nervous about the router, but it was really easy and fast!

but centering the hole saw?? Seems like router is better way

They are lug centric. You could cut em with a jigsaw and it would be ok.

Side note... Removing Plasti dip.

First the story. When we had the wheels power coated they turned out not as good as could’ve been. So we top coated them with plasti dip spray paint. That looked ok for a while but not good now. Was peeling, sticky, and hard to clean.

Wd40, Alcohol, brake clean, kerosene were recommended.

Tried Wd40 No
Tried Alcohol No
Tried Brake clean, works but ran out and it seemed like I would need a lot!
Didn’t have kerosene and the hardware store wanted 15.00 bucks a gallon for it.

Jerry can full of gas sitting next to me?
Oh hell ya! That’s the ticket!
Soak it on with a brush and rub it off with a gas soaked rag then wait for the wife to come into the garage complaining about the gas smell! :haha:

Works really good and fairly fast, safety precautions obviously need to be taken.

I’ll do the next two outside to keep the smell down. ;)

This will take it off...:D

Don't laugh--I've watched a guy at a body shop use one of these to remove a very securely stuck on vinyl wrap that would only peel off in small pieces ,on a large P series delivery van..
He just aimed it at the panel for a few seconds, and had a helper come up from behind with a putty knife to peel off the bubbled up vinyl..
