flat top knuckle repair

i have a set of flat tops for my d44 but the on the driver side where the tie rod attaches is all oblonged, i was going to use another drivers side knuckle off of a different axle but i just read that your not suposed to do that is this true or can i use the different one or is there a repair for the old one?

You can always go hi-steer and forgo using the stock tie-rod hole .

If you use the stock tie rod locations and look for another knuckle, make sure the taper is drilled the same direction as the current one you are using. I mix and match knuckles all the time w/o issues.
