I was looking at getting a 4 ton floor jack from Sears with my xmas money and gift cards, but after reading the reviews on them I am sort of leary about it. 90% of the reviews are bad. What is everybody using for floor jacks? I am looking for the norm needs to be able to lift my truck without stacking anything under the jack, and needs to roll around easily.

So what are you using and how much was it?

Links are good too.

some 3 1/2 ton from HF, got it prob 10 or 11 yrs ago, heck its blue, they been orange forever it seems.

I have went through two 3 1/2 ton michelins in a year, just got a big 3 or 4 ton craftsman for christmas and tried to use it for the first time today and it would not pump up. guess i need to figure out how to repair them. Im getting really tired of using the little dinky ones you get when you buy a creeper anywhere.

I vaguely remember having to prime my Craftsman or get some air out of it when I first used mine b/c it wouldn't pump up either. There should be a little tag that comes on the jack that tells you about having to do that.

x2
Once I got my 2.5T craftsman working, it was a champ for about 3 years. I used that thing ALOT! I only paid something like $25.00 on sale, so I got my money worth in my opinion.

My 4-ton craftsman was the biggest pile of garbage i ever bought. It worked great for about a month after i got it, and that was it. The speed lift would work, but when it got a load on it it would take a while to finally catch. The ram leaked, and after about 6 months the u-joint that the handle is attached to broke. It is currently residing in the scrap yard.

My neighbor and I both had one, mine went in the trash after a year and my neighbors does not work. I still have my old reliable heavy 3 ton steel jack I have had for 24 years I bought new at a car show/swap meet for 60 bucks.

I have a craftsman that takes forever to pump up. I wish it had the speed option. a complete stroke of the handle moves the lifting pad about 1".

it will get the rear tires off the ground and the passenger front because I put it under the pumpkin. but the driver side requires a block of wood added. but for every other truck I work on that doesn't have 44's it fine.

I'm completely satisfied with my new "Michelin" 3.5 ton I bought at SAM's Wholesale( $70). It has the quick lift feature. Much better than my old HF.

I bought one from Napa a while back and have had no problems with it so far. I already knew better than to get a asscraft one.

For you guys with lousy Craftsman jacks...

Isn't ANYTHING with "Craftsman" on it guaranteed forever, no questions asked? I have a 3 ton HF that I bought with a warranty. No problems.

yeah, the crappy jacks come with a 1 year warranty.

Mine is a pile of *&%$.
The old ones were awesome. The recent ones are junk.

Don't buy a Craftsman jack. I regret ever buying mine.

I have an old school sears jack I got for $10 and love it... The new sears jacks are worse, I work at sears and to see jacks actually come back is scary.. Ive never seen the hf jacks but they look like a good choice. A brand cosco sells is good to its like all pro or something like that.. They used to be just $80 at cosco for a great one and best I can find now is online for $150. I would rlly suggest trying to find an old school one at a swap meet but if you cant hf seems like best bet....
