I was going to use 75w-90 (synthetic) to fill my 14 bolt FF. it has a detriot locker and I was told this was the best fluid for my 14 bolt???

Is that correct??

Can I use that fluid in my transfer case it's a 205 behind a TH 350.

MY next question is from the B and M web site....it recommends using the trick shift fluid (of course) for a tranny that as a shift kit installed in it...and mine does but the next thing I read caught me off gaurd...It recommends if you are not going to use trick shift for your fluid they recommed using the ford f type over dexron??? (see below)

any thoughts

STEP 6
. Lower vehicle but try to

keep rear wheels off the ground,
if possible. Add 6 quarts of B&M
Trick Shift ATF. While Trick Shift
is superior in heat capacity, lubrication
and friction material performance,
if Trick Shift is unavailable,
we recommend Ford Type

F fluid over Dexron or Type A.

I am pretty sure that trick shift is just synthetic type F fluild, it is common for people to run type f fluid in th400/th350's, something about the friction coefficent of the fluid causes it to firm up shifts

and I run 75w90HD lucas oil in my 14b with detroit with good results, locker works great and is pretty quiet, I have never noticed the "troll hitting your frame with a hammer" feeling/noise that others describe with the detroit

I read somwhere, somebody was recommending tranny fluid for the 205. Is that correct??

does not sound right to me...but i'm no expert

You can use either Dex2 or gear lube in a 205. They are made to use either.
Behind an auto tranny it is best to use ATF. If you loose a seal and gearlube gets into the auto trans it will burn it out in a short time.
