Flywheel weight v/s diameter 168/197 tooth ?

A machine shop should be able to balance the new flywheel without the rotating assembly. Can't remember how, but they can lol..
I gotta get by there and talk with the guys in back at the machine shop.
Also need to have two additional anti-shear dowel holes drilled in the flywheel - the 292’s were made with three dowels instead of one on the BBC and other wheels of that era.

It's gonna sound like an old school bus running down the trail! No WOOPOW, just vvvvvvvnn vvvvvvvnn. :rotfl: :burnout: :pimp:

Do a thread, you know I'm an inline fan!
I got parts scattered from my place to L.A. ( lower Alabama for y’all that aren’t cultured enough in the south…) and I’m still assembling components, parts-n-pieces - ain’t got to the actual build of the truck yet.
Besides, I’m way too slow and go at my own pace nowadays - maybe a few pics along the way.

I’m hoping it is fairly quiet and sealed up instead of the usual loud pipe echo effect - maybe a little wiggle-stick lump-n-thump noticed at idle but quiet overall so it’s not annoying.

I figured you were going to have it real quiet.

I’m all ears on this! I’m in northern Alabama and have been hunting for a 292.

Beware, @tarussell will lead you down an expensive rabbit hole of exotic parts. lol I know, he did it to me many, many moons ago with big block stuff. :doah: :rotfl: To this day I tell my wife it's all his fault. :deal:

It was just sooo much easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission….besides Mary drove that truck hard and had a big ole smile while impressing everyone at the track and in the swamp.

And wait a minute - YOU were the one who got me into big block power in the first place, I just wanted more once I got the feel of it. I think we both fed off each other in the pursuit of more power.

Hey @tarussell , I have a large cap height style distributor with external coil that's all yours for the ride. Had it on my 250. New cap, rotor and wires. Sorry for the hijack.

@Weird Beard - thanks very much for the offer but I’m very much all set in the good type distributor parts department.
I started collecting 292’s back in the 90’s and have a half-a-dozen complete motors with accessories and a good bit of aftermarket parts as well.
I finally had to stop acquiring parts in fear of truly becoming Fred Sanford but I am glad I did because they seem to be fairly hard to come by these days.

Once again, appreciate the offer but it should go to someone else that truly could use it instead of sitting on a shelf with all my other stuff.
Thanks, Tom

No worries. I saved it because it's such a nice addition to the six. Offer is open to anyone who can use it. Stoked to see your build come together.
