Scenario.

Ford 150, 2010 lariat crew cab 4x4 with a 5.4. Front end crash,bad.

My landlord at my garage was in a major rush to get the thing put back together sans insurance. So I bring the truck down to a body shop guy I know to have the frame pulled and order up a full front clip from the junkyard. I get a dreaded phone call a week later after I bought the $6500 front clip. "Yeah we cant pull this frame its took bad"

So FML. A new frame from ford is $4000ish. I really dont want to go this route as its going to be incredibly labor intensive to do a full drivetrain, suspension, and cab swap. So Im searching around for a front section, basically from the first cab mount forward to splice into the existing frame. For the life of me I cant find a frame from the same WB/cab option truck BUT I can find one from a standard cab no problem.

Im curious if the cab configuration makes a ****s difference on the front frame horns/engine crossmember. So thats the question. Could I splice a standard cab front section into the crew cab frame? What detective work could I do to figure this out since I doubt anyone has been in these shoes before...

It would make zero sense for them to change the suspension mounting points and engine crossmember between a crew cab, extended cab, and standard cab no?
