? for people who have a doubler in there rig

[ QUOTE ]
5.88:1 not 6. If the 205 has a 1.96:1 ratio(as it does) then 3 times 1.96:1 is 5.88:1. Sorry I know its stupid but a regular doubler isn't 4:1 its 3.92:1. Yeah so it only makes a slight difference when calculating crawl ratio its the truth.

I don't even know what to say...jumping my sh!t for what amounted to a 0.13 difference, and to top it off you apparently failed basic math in middle school.

The Wagoner kit is actually a 3.1 to 1 ratio, not a 3.0 to 1.

Apparently it used to be even deeper when they first started doing them (like 3.6:1) but there were some problems getting those gears into a wide variety of cases....(I thought I remembered Casey at WMS blaming it on the F*rd 203s???)

Anyway, I've got one of their 3.1:1 WMS boxes but have to sell off the Doubler I already bought, since I've decided to go with UniMog axles, and the outputs on the 205 are now on the "wrong" side. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

Well I was wrong. How often do you hear that on CK5? DIdn't know the WMS kit was 3.1 seemed to remember it being 3.0 but obviouslly I'm incorrect. Same thoughts on the 203 again incorrect.

are these unimog things driveside axles or something? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The front axle input is on the opposite side from standard Chevy (Drivers side vs. Passenger side), so to use the Unimog axles I have to buy a F*rd NP205 with the output on the opposite side, and the Doubler itself ends up being completely "mirror image" of what it was before.

This is the kind of thing that happens (wasting parts and $$$) when you change your mind about a buildup when you've already started acquiring parts. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif

off topic a little, but related....

with the mention of the 3.1:1 WMS 203 reduction box....is it possible to run this in a regular 203 not in a doubler setup-wondering if a stock 203 would hold up or not? But would be kinda nice considering it saves a lot of fab work and redoing driveshafts n stuff, but still nets you a little more crawl ratio /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
