Shortened bed, or flat bed? Post pics of what you`ve done.

a flat bed will be less work in the end, but a bed shortened right has a cleaner look.

How would one do it right?:D I`m wondering if you could buy the wall thats on the p/u beds, and use it to "cap off" the blazer bed?

I would think that the least amount of work would be to bolt on a truck cab and take a section out of the side of a shortbed. cut the bedside right behind the front stake pocket and another cut in front of the wheel well. you would have to figure out how far apart to make the cuts. remove the offending section, slide the two peices together and weld it up.

I saw on here a pic of a guys truck mudding that had done it. It looked good.

Or you could just build a shortbed to start with.:doah:

the shortened bed (5.5', i think) on the recent years 4-door silverado and sierra might work well, if it wasn't a totally different body style. but, it's not uncommon to see really old chevy trucks with an 88-99 stepside bed on them. more compatible body styles, though.

A shortbed

Since a trazer is using a blazer frame and a blazer has a 106" ish wheel base and a short bed is 115" ish than I would guess the trazer would be 9" shorter:wink1: .

Sounds like a plan:D

I have a lead on a complete rust free cab, which I will pick up and store it until I have everything ready to do the swap. For now, I`m gonna wheel the piss out of my blazer, take her out in the woods and SQUEEZE between some trees...just need to save the front clip, so I need to be a little carefull:D

boggerless has bedsides mounted on his trazer, I think he set them up so they are attached with pins, kinda pre-runner style, so he could take them off easily.

I dont have a "Trazer",but I did have a Blazer with a truck cab on it :p:.Mine was stepside bed sides with cut down trailer fenders bolted to tube .I think I shortened the bed 10 or so inches :D
