ford super duty drive shaft ?

Superduty shafts have a tiny pilot and need a factory flange from a 271f or HAD. The CV is also threaded and not the flange.

I feel like it's a 2" pilot.

funny as @Rugby_7 told me on the phone today it was the 3 1/8" pilot . . . .

i did call jesse at HAD for his flange price so if my friend ever wants to go driveline e-brake he will be already setup for it . he said he is almost 2weeks backed up and waiting on parts . but he said there in the pile to do .

wierd stuff them ford boys do . ... :dunno:

well i think maybe order the 39 3/8 shaft and then measure the i.d. we get and order the flange from there ? ? ?

They also come in three different u joint sizes. 1350, 1410,1480

prob a ebay shaft like some of you guys have done .

then a flange from ether ord or had if he want to have a parking brake option down the road .

If I can make a suggestion, driveshaftspecialist.com is local to me and only uses good parts. Not sure what the Ebay shafts are made of. Talk to Craig and he knows what to get you. He also wheels a sas s10.
He made the new shaft in my picture.

Silly question but that refers to the single joint not the double cardan, right?

If double cardan, do you have the application for the 1480?

i got a shop local that does spicer stuff and the guys has been there 10+ years that does the shafts now .

my buddy just wants it working / watch the budget / that kind of thing . . . i will stop in and see my local guy and see what he say's .

were still looking over all our options at this point .

if they are dorman i my self would prob not run one . i would go used or nos new ford part first .

This is what I know:
The 1480 I have only ever seen is in cab and chassis f450s and up which got the two piece shafts. Excursion rears I've measured were 1410 at the axle side and 1350 CV joints.

I have searched the net for answers and have none. I am on my way in AM to semi local yard that deals in trucks only to see what I can find. I let you know. Super duty is 1999 to 2014 (250.350.450.550)and then they changed something

you find a god clean take out oem let me know the price . but then shipping might kill the deal from cali to new york .

those prices i would my self would take a clean not rusted ford shaft from cali over china stuff .

all you would need to do is pvc pipe and glue on 2 end caps and pack some paper in each end and lable on it and go .

were running a 400sbc 10:1 comp and nv4500 with locked 1tons and 37" tires . so i would do a oem stock shaft .

my droop and weight on is looking at 39 - 40 inch .

@obijuank5 won't argue with you. That is why I am going to look in person. I don't trust the information I have found on the web.
