ford super duty drive shaft ?

Oh I am hardly an expert. Just trying to tell what I know about it and what I've seen. There is plenty that I dont know about it.

There are a few types of the sd shaft. You want the spicer series. Got one dune season so far on my 40 buck cut down sd shaft. I’ll be having Tom woods make me a clearanced one for this year.

Super Duty I have 2005 250 is 2 inch pilot. I believe driveshaftsuperstore has the flange also for the 2 pilot.

so looking over the ebay link you provided @iwaxmyjimmy the pics show what looks like a smaller center pilot hole than what jesse / rugby_7 said is the 3 1/8" pilot size needed .

do you have any more info on this ? the length looks perfect for what we need and prob no length change . just trying to make sure .

maybe @obijuank5 has some info also ?

This is the other link I posted that is the part number to make it fit your factory flange.

I’ve got one of the shafts I posted. Let me finish breakfast and I’ll post up some pictures of it and of the 2005-up factory shaft I’ve got as well. Hopefully that’ll answer all your questions you have. It really looks like a well built driveshaft.

The rusty one is a junkyard 2006 f250 front shaft, the new looking one is the eBay one I sent a link for. It does have a 2” pilot which is why I’m using a different flange out back showin in the other picture. My bad didn’t have my coffee yet, the other link I posted to Denny’s driveshaft is so you can put that same shaft up front on your factory front outpost flange.

Send it. I put 50k easy on my sd shaft with 6" and a 400/205. Still wheeling it now. Got it from @muddybuddy like a decade ago.

1350 for all three joints. Good choice all around imo. If you go custom 1350 CV it's just going to be a superduty cv head anyways.

Dodge now has a 1410 shaft that's pretty sweet I just got my hands on.

Obi, could you give us more details on the 1410 dodge shaft.

I would like to know the tube diameter, slip travel, and possibly the max operating angle of the stock CV.
Thanks!

I have the front shaft out of my 06 Dodge right now, I'll grab some pics and measurements tonight.

DANA SPICER 3-3-1831KX Slip Yoke 1410

This is a 1410 yoke that fits the splines of that eBay shaft as well

Edit: this yoke is really too long for the slip spline and I’ll likely use a different one. Which they have several different lengths to chose from. I’ve got a 7”slip spline I plan on using with this yoke for my front driveshaft.

I picked up two 2006 F350 front shafts this morning with all Spicer double cardan joint, 2" pilot hole and 1350 all around. $100 plus taxes out the door.

For the sake of info...

‘06 Dodge 2500 srw 4wd CTD 6spd

Front driveshaft:
The pilot hole has a step, 2.5 & 3.1
The CV is just shy of 4” across the ears of the flange piece. - 1350??

Yes that is a 1350 CV. But it seems to have the same pilot as GM front T.case flanges.
Whats the compressed and extended measurements? tube diameter?

@frankin5, when I spoke to Ed this morning he mentioned some other guy picked up two this morning - I got the last one! I asked overall condition and he said "should be good, some surface rust - no warranty on u joint, but gotta be better than what you got available in salty NY!"

They diffidently have some rust on them, got to make you feel like they came from home.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: The joints on the two I got all worked free and easy. I had planned to replace all the joints before i purchased them. The ones I got both had around 150,000 miles on them. They are rusty for setting out in the weather, but not like I seen from your area. :yikes::yikes::yikes:
