looks cool Brian, what year 41?
plans?

put a space between your pics that way they will align vertically instead of horizontally!

the original owner died about 15 years ago, bought it from his son(65 years old). he told me it was a 43 with a 47 cab. but they were not sold too civil in the war years. i got too find a serial number too get it right and get registration for it. there suppose too have a serial number on the bellhousing. don,t have time right away too work on it. planning on working on it in febuary slower at the garage. hopeing the flat head v8 is not siezed,i new his dad he had already told me when he park it, he had put oil in the cylinders. and lifted the rear wheels on blocks and would occasionaly turn the rear wheel too turn engine over a little.it was parked in the mid sixtys in a barn, his boy need the room and pull it in a field about 4 years ago. its kind off ok rust wise for up here. as for plans i got 1001s:whistle: will be decided this winter when i find serial number, and what shape the motors in:dunno:!!! thanks on the tip

Flatheads are awersome. Ive really been wanting to build one since I got the last issue of Hot Rod with all the flathead stuff in it.

its a 1942,2ton with a eaton 2 speed rear axle(roxel) 4 speed transmission. and a powerful 239 cid v8, 2 barrel carburator. got rear wheel bearings and brake cylinders on order. the roxel is vacum operated. motor is not seized, fill cylinders with a mixture of diesel fuel and atf last november, turned it over by crank( got the hand crank with truck) last november before filling cylinders. got cap, rotor, points, wire, sparks plugs,by napa. will be trying too start as soon as rear end is back together,so i can move it planning on a lot off heavy smoke:doah:!!! has not run since 1960 by owner boy.been doing a bit of body work while waiting on rear axle bearings. a

nice to see a old girl being loved and going back in to service. :waytogo:

ohhhhhhhhh

that's all I got, subscribed :D

oh, and how sick would that be all cleaned up, painted, with a bag setup in the rear :D

suprising how solid the fenders are, we close shop at noon (not always)on saturdays. wife works too 9pm saturdays, thats when i can give most off my time. and on some weekdays its slower in febuary. hope i can get running for spring too be able to drive around (not road worthy yet for a few years before inspection)our fields. funny how it was made wooden cab supports, with springs, and roxel lever long arm.

by the old man son ,he bought it back from queens motor. first owner could not make payments,so i would be third owner.didn,t think people could get credith back then:dunno:.tomorrow i have too try and get registration, second atemp kind off complicated. they were lost by his mom she had alzimer.

got it running last evening ,ran for about 5 minute. too let it warm up .now i,m gona change the oil and filter, and install some sort off temporary gas tank, had 3 batteries one for starter 12volt one for electric gas pomp 12volt and 6volt for coil. runs pretty smooth and no muffler. and i finally got registration!!!

no freaking way did it start that easy after 40 years!! My DD doesn't start that easy lol

when i did the video,it was already warm up. but it started fairly quick. had installed a carburator kit in it. points, spark ,cap, rotor and wires before hand. had put some oil in cylinder too bring up compression. they were in 65lbs range, i understand 100lbs is normal. valve train was ok you could see them throught the spark plug holes. pour gas in carburator 1st time turned over no exhaust, second time a good gulb of gas ,and it fire up,a little rough but idle pretty quick.:woot:

That's awesome. I'd really love to find an old truck like that worth putting the effort into
