Hey it you raise the question of the drivers responseablity like i said; Don't let them tell you he had to have it forward more so he could get it all the way inside the truck thats a load of bull!! I drove a towmoter for a long time moving skids of stone most were very over there limit i meen cracking the skids ( this was all in house stuff so it dident mater) And loading very heavy skids on to trucks you go as far as you can and drop it abit so the wight is half on the truck and half on the forks. THEN you drag your forks out a bit and lift again when the wight is suported half and half and move it farward as much as you need to then drop it all the way.
In fact it is not only quicker but easyer to just go all the way farward into a skid then tostop halfway. So the driver isent lazy or anything hes just plain incompatant!!! Any driving school will teach you first thing /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gifand that you only have your forks as high as you need. Driveing: Only a couple of inches, with a skid; mabey 6 inches. you only lift the skid to the level you need very close, the last moment, so that as you drive you come up to clear were your putting it. Or you go up to the truck stop then lift. also if it was bounceing: you stop i only lost one skid like that, and i was lowering it so it wouldent snap, if it bounces you slow right down and stop not keep going MAN!!!!
Don't let your self get screwed here, it will cost you nothing to wait /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif and go as high up the chain as you need it could cost you a lot more to be hasty. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif i am sure it will work out stay happy /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
