Well, I found myself a dana 60 from a 79 dually, but the guy said it doesn't have any gears in it, other than that, its all there. i haven't looked at it yet, anything in particular i should look at? Also, if i'm gonna get a locker for it, does it matter what gear ratio it had? And how much does a set of gears usually run?

oh yeah, anything else i should pull off it, I have a stock 82 k5 ex-diesel, (like what about the rear end??)

thanks

Get the spring plates along with the complete axle from hub to hub.

If you're putting a locker in it, it doesn't matter what it has for gears.

Gears run $150-220, Detroit is $550, and you can pick whatever ratio you want up to 7.17! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

better make sure it's got them bearing caps. with out them it's worthless

I dont have a 14b yet for the rear, but i will be before this ever gets driven, will I need to get new gears for the rear or would stock be fine, assuming i get the same ratio for the front?

Thanks
