Found a early 80's chevy 1 ton, with D60 and 14ff with 4.56 gears. Thought I would put the axles in my truck. Truck is pretty rough with a 350 motor and automatic tranny. Price is $1000. Think that is good or not? One of the front hubs will not unlock, is that a big problem?

A decent condition D60 alone can sometimes be worth 1000. I think its a good deal. If you swapped your axles back under that truck and resold it, some people may not even notice? /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Ithought it was a pretty good price too, I thought about selling mine also. Another question, what do I need to look for when buying a used axle. Thanks for the input.

I'de agree to buy. Up here a D60 is 800+ from a boneyard.

[/ QUOTE ] Try 1,500.00+ in my area at the salvage yards IF you can find one. Closest one I found was still 400+ miles away. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

don't buy it. A D60 is way over rated....................................................................................................................ok, buy it then /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

you guys would love it here in idaho, old trucks every place you look, i can think of two first gen k5s sitting in diffrent peoples yards within 3 blocks of my home, we have countless farmers with old rigs just rusting away.I cant wait till i can afford to go yard shopping!

I got my D60 and 14 Bolt for $400 at a junkyard, that includes them pulling the axles for me and placing them in my truck. Good deals can be found if you wait long enough. Then again, those axles have 4.56 gears /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif Buy them! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

WOW, 400 bucks! I am in mass, what junkyard was that? /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

R and R in Springfield. I haven't seen another K30 in there since I got mine and I check at least once a month /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif Good luck finding one /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
