LOL I am putting a 14 b bolt in the rear of my Scout right now and I have some questions for you Chevy gurus.

What's the torque for the flange bolts??? Also where is a good place to get the over haul manual for just the 14 bolt?

Anything I should be looking at as far as high fail areas? I am rebuilding the whole thing after I test fit everything.

Welcome to CK5. I have an old thread saved that has most of the info you need on the 14 bolt...

Mostly torque spec's and stuff, but there is other info there too.

There are no 'high fail' areas to be concerned with when you're talking about the 14 bolt FF. It's a monster that loves abuse. Frankly about the only way to thoroughly kill one is to run it without gear lube./forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

ok you are going 14ff for the rear very good idea so lets cover the front. how do you plan on using your rig? heavy wheeling? light wheeling? what size tires? heavy wheeling and big tires go with a dana 60 front if light wheeling and smaller tires 35 and under go with a dana 44 font /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

All the replies you got from the guys about the 14FF holds true...you just can't go wrong with it. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif They are damn near impossible to break.

I like the fact you are wanting to use a GM front axle, regardless if its a D44, 60, or 10 bolt. The main reason: to convert the spring-under to over and gain what...about 5" lift? I am in Wichita for another 2 months then i am going to be in McLouth KS. McLouth is about a 40-45 min drive to KC.
