thanks for the reply,,
The lower core support has the back edge toward the motor
bent down vise grip and a hammer it was causing a problemn!
>and I massaged the angled flange on the back side a little!
the new bottom bracket rad clamps are sitting on core support,
new bolts are sitting in the hole's,
they had a really lage 5/8ths rubber block's with 2 releif's cut on the bottom
for the bolts!
compared to the rusty stock clamps old rubber pieces, at 1/4 inch thick but used on the Smaller rad tank!
I was thinking a One Ton 1970 Chevy might have had a top clamp designed fot this set up! like a spacer round tubing or sq tuing blocks
note;
>While I was at the specialty store I bought new Four core tank clamp's for my 87 FS GMC "Jimmy" 4X4,TBI 5.7 700 R4
I had added a New ally radiator a radiator for a
>BBC suburban 7 plate internal ATF cooler Ally 2 large row big tanks,
mabe more cooling than a 4- core brass,
I installed 2 years back and had to modify a few thing's and had older Rubber Pieces I needed to replace top and bottom!
So I had them to compare as they are a 1/4 inch lower, than the new70 model and fit the lower clamp bracket's,,
>>>>so to lower it I tried the 87 new rubber blocks,
I would guess that some one has tried this before, with spacers or creative fabrication!
Visualy both old and new radiators are the same height and lenght,,,
But I will Measure with a tape and Square
on a flat surface tomorow,,,,,
>> as we had earlier set them on the ground and eyeballed them!
>>I beleve the tanks ridge is bigger 1 inch over all !
but I will check!
plus I have to deal with the fan shroud being out of cemter!
Anybody having a Ideal or pictures would help!
>>>>Got any ideas?
