[ QUOTE ]
I havent seen the truck either.I like mostly whats underneath a truck, nothing shiny or "blingy" really, just good, superstrong, practical running gear that can be applied anywhere. My thing is with custom axles.Im not an "expert" yet,but i dont like tons of chrome underneath a truck,or a bunch of shocks going everywhere (serving no purpose)for no reason exept for looks.Just a clean, practically lifted truck with mabey a semi-custom lift, where anything and everything has a purpose.Im a little new at this,im not a trail wizard,or a hill climbing rock god, /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifso dont laugh.Just my 2 cents.....YOURS TRULY HI PINION /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

[/ QUOTE ] Well stated on your opinion! I'm not laughing one bit. I agree %100, I don't like useless stuff either, I hate it when a truck looks like the whole damn thing was dipped in chrome and when bags and especially tracion bars that are commenly overdone. Pick up the latest issue of fourwheeler... I think you will in general like this truck that we are talking about. It has all one ton running gear, SM465, a nice 502BB,4" in F/6" in R with 35x16 boggers with weld stone crusher wheels, paint is OK (would be better without the stripes and cheesy pinstriping). There is a few things that are a little cheesy but I bet you will like it. It is probably the most practical simpler trucks on the cover since Toby's blazer. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

[ QUOTE ]
Don't even go there, that is soooo stupid, do you really think I like lowriders with "big rims" ans just wan't to go and pick up chicks? That is rediculous. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif There you go mouthing off again /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

you need to learn to differentiate between a comment that is clearly in jest (hence the winking smileys and stuff) and "mouthing off" (which would prolly have lots of %*^& words and stuff). big difference, one is a personal attack and the other is just messing around.

[ QUOTE ]
He is a member of the Indiana Truck pulling Association. Do you think they just f$%k around and sit in a circle near their trucks and sing coombia?

[/ QUOTE ]

sounds like the rig would be better placed in some kind of drag racing enthusiast mag or something. I mean really, the mud pit you drove in that you mentioned in your bogger thread would prolly scare that guy away... might snap a light off or something! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif In any case, the pulls Ive seen are all done on a purposefully prepared surface, aka a road. Its not asphault, but its not "off road" IMO either.

[ QUOTE ]
I'm sure his truck could drag your ass around if the 2 of you pulled back to back.

[/ QUOTE ]

nah, I'd just stack up a few rocks about 1' high in front of his rig and he'd be to scared to hit the skinny pedal. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

[ QUOTE ]
He uses it everyday as transportation and pulls a 25ft cattle trailer all the time, that is far more impressive to me than beating it and climbing rocks.

[/ QUOTE ]

doing things with a truck that a stock truck can do is "impressive"? why? Seems like any 1 ton dodge or chevy or ford 2004 truck could do what this guy is doing with his... unmodified, right off the lot. If thats what he uses it for, fine but I still dont see why its in an offroad mag. When my mom goes to SCA events, she takes her chrysler minivan on pretty muddy/watery "roads" that lead to the encampments and she hauls lots of junk around too... who knows, maybe she'll be in fourwheeler someday... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

[ QUOTE ]
Most people that aren't hardcore 4x4 enthusiasts and people that are just semi interested, have no idea what that offroad only truck is besides a funny looking 4wheeler to them.

[/ QUOTE ]

you said a reason to have a rig like fourwheeler does on the cover was that it would "catch the eye"... i dont care how much a person knows about offroad rigs, the sniper would DEFINITELY catch their eye more just because it is so wacky and extreme. The thing looks like NASA built it to rove around on Mars or something. Not arguing the merits of either vehicle here, just pointing out that the "eye catching arguement" is full 'o' holes.

oh, and to the headlight requirement thing and these lights, I doubt thats the reason they are mounted where they are... this is the lowest 1-ton rig I have ever seen on a set of Boggers. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

I'd run welds, they'd prolly be 8-9" wide ones for 39.5 Iroks on a lil single seat offroad-only tube buggy Im designing. I want forged AL rims for that rig, cause its gonna have toy axles and big meats so I need to keep weight down as low as I can. I dont really care what they'd look like... prolly end up calling the guys at Weld and just asking them which model was the lightest and getting it no matter what it looked like...

Now that is sexy! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

[/ QUOTE ] is that a sponser i see on that beast???jeez i wonder how warn can afford to give free
parts to hardcore comp rigs like that??? because of all the
thousands of posers that purchase there equipment, that
keep them in buisness, if it wasnt for posers most companies
wouldnt be in buisness, magazines have to be smart to target
the majority of the people that they sell to, sorry but its the posers that make it all possible for the comp rigs to
exist!! ironic isnt it, /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif

I hope I don't sound like I try to force my ideas and preferences on other people on what I like as far as wheels.
I never said they are the cats meow on trails and rocks...I wouldn't run them on those types of terrain. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes and it is getting old, we all need to leave eachother alone as far as our own opinions and ideas about what we like and dislike.

I understand both sides, but that is a clean truck. And compared to the trucks that they usually put on the cover with 10bolts and 44's, that is a step up for that mag.

As I said abouve, I understand both sides. That is why I have this Blazer, that every time it gets a dent, it goes to body shop. It is a nice truck and I want it to stay that way.

But I am also building this Blazer , for beating on. I am sad to see to how many of you guys who HAD nice looking Blazers a few years ago, now have hacked up trail rigs. But hell, they are your trucks. When I started my beater truck, I bought it for $200 and it was gutted and trashed. I know not every one has a abillity to have two rigs, so I'm not tring to insult anyone. And if you are, sorry, just my opinoins.

[/ QUOTE ]
I have also noticed that and I agree /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif But hey for some of these members a hacked beat trail rig is exactly what they wan't and anything done to a truck that is towards making it nicer is uneccessary and a waste of time. That is sad to see. That is probably where the line is drawn at...people that care about the quality and condition(looks) of their rig along with making it trail tuff and then there is the guys that don't give a hoot about anything but crawling, trails, etc. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Very different opinions between the 2 when it comes to building a truck and I think that is were the clash and arguments start. It gets out of hand very fast when one side wants to make fun of or belittle other ideas that they tend to not agree with. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Can't we all just get along. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

And for some reason it always gets the same people saying the same things. It's like alot of people love the H2. I hate it. but that is my opinon and if someone thinks it is the greatest design ever, great, I'm not going to tell them different.
