What I am wanting to do is bolt an 84 1/2 ton 2wd pickup cab on a 74 1/2 ton 2wd frame...any problems with this? does it use the 70's mounts or 80's?

Thanks guys

Should fit with the 70's mounts. The difference is in the frame not the cab.

It will bolt right on. Use rubber or poly mounts to fit the frame year, not the body year.

yep frame year and body style 2wd or 4wd and no problems. unless you want to use 70's front clip on 80's cab then some work :eek1:

2wd or 4wd

First post and not to steal anyones thread, but would this go for all 80 suburban? I have a 91 4x4 (Frame is rusting) and a 86 2wd (Rust free) are pretty much interchangeable, except of course the front suspensions.

Thanks

Ryan

Burb should be good for '80 up and possibly older. I know the K5 was a little different 77/78

Rubber and poly mounts are split between '80 and '81.

Yes, you are correct '81 up for the mounts. On the K5 I think the frame is different 77/78 somewhere based on the way the rear floor is made?

Right, the floor and mounts changed in '78. Then the mounts changed again in '81, along with PU and Sub.
